I'm on tour this week for #Stain's launch so will announce the winners after January 21st. Thanks to all who took part!

Only a week to go until Stain finally hits the shelves on January 15th, so it's time for an international giveaway to celebrate!

First, for some insight into the story itself, here's a trade review from School Library Journal:

Although that gives you some small idea, a picture is worth a thousand words -- so today I'm revealing the secret pinterest board filled with characters, creatures, moods, songs, and settings that helped inspire my gothic fairytale.

Want to sample the story? You can read the entire first chapter here.

And remember, for readers in the U.S., there's an awesome preorder incentive going right now that will guarantee you an enamel rose pin, a signed bookplate, and the Morpheus prequel story, Alice the Absent

You can find the details for that swag pack here.

Now, let's get to the international goodies that everyone has a shot at winning!

    1. And to answer your question in the giveaway: I prefer brothers Grimm's fairytales. The ones from Disney have some charm to them, too, but I grew up with reading old collections of Grimm fairytales and I still read a fairytale or two every now and then. You just never grow too old for them.

  3. I love Disney but I actually prefer Grimm fairytales. I love how dark they can be. Thank you so much for this generous giveaway, Anita! :D

I prefer Disney because I grew up with its films and I used to dream about living in one of them, but now that I'm older I realized that I wouldn't mind a bit of darkness too ;)

  11. Both! Seriously, that's a hard one. I grew up with the Grimms books and the Disney movies.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I prefer Grimms fairy tales because they are more dark and closer to real life as compared to Disney which tends to water things down and leave out the gore.

    ReplyDelete
  13. in answer to the question, I prefer Grimm over Disney. I like happily ever after, but I love how dark the Grimm tales are.

  17. Grimm over everything! It just speaks to my soul like no other. It reminds me of my mom reading to me when I didn't feel good. I was a very sick child still am but every single time I didn't feel good, my mom would read me stories. Don't get me wrong I love Disney as well, I think we all grew up on Disney in one way or another but what makes my heart fill with happiness is dark, gloomy, stories that makes me feel like it's ok to not be ok. I battle mental illness every single day &, this is the best way I can describe it, when I read a book, watch a movie/tv show, or even when I see it raining outside, I live for those days/moments because it makes me feel like I don't have to be happy all the time. Like it's normal to be sad or a little down sometimes, & when it rains that's one way of Mother Nature letting out ALL the stuff she's been holding in & telling us, "It's ok child. Let it out. Let all that sadness out because it does no one good to hold it in." I hope that made sense to someone lol good luck to everybody! 💜

  31. I prefer Grimm fairy tales. It's interesting how they can take something with the genre of "fairy tale," something that sounds light and happy, and twist it into something so sinister and dark but can still have meaning and the purpose of teaching a lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love both grimm and disney depending on my mood!! Happy = disney. Sad or Mad = grimm

  35. "Do your prefer Grimm fairytales, or Disney?"
I guess it really depends on the story! For the more popular stories, I prefer the magic of Disney, but more unknown ones have this special, dark vibes to it.

  36. I like the dark twists, so Grimm fairy tales.

    ReplyDelete
  37. While I love Disney, I prefer the Grimm fairy tales. The only reason is because as a kid I was sure they were my grandmother's stories.

  44. Hi!
I just want to say thank you for the opportunity of this offer. Not a chance to win here haha, but it's so beautiful I need to say. I love you <3.

And from my answer ... I think I love them both, just for different reasons.
Disney is a part of my childhood, they talk about hope and faith in "Happily Ever After"; they have all that songs that every one sings and toches our hearts.
The Grimms Fairy Tales, actually all of Fairy Tales, the have lessons to teach us that have been passed over generations and we can't' even come close to understand. They explain in a metaphoric way the archetypes of Hero, Justice, Good, Love and others.

I dont no if I express myself rigth, since english is not my first language, but I hope you understand ^-^.

  45. I prefer Grimm but I can do Disney. Grimm just has that darker edge that resonates with me on a deeper level.

  46. I prefer Grimm but I can do Disney. Grimm is darker and resonates with me on a deeper level.

  47. Grimm for me (they are more believable)
    And Disney for the kiddos!

    ReplyDelete
  48. If i had to choos be treen grimm and disney... i would definitely choose grimm! I love reading the original fairy tales that they wrote!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ooh that's a tricky question. I love both in there own respects. I grew up on Disney and I love the hope and happiness that has been instilled in most stories. I love that the female roles for the most part are empowered and are found valuable for more then just there beauty. I enjoy Grimm as well thou. They may be darker but sometimes there is more truth to the dark. Life isn't all about happy endings and being saved. There's most certainly life lessons to be had in the original stories. Thank you for the opportunity to win some special goodies! I adore your splintered series on such a personal level. Roseblood is close to my heart due to growing up with the phantom. Looking forward to Stain, from what I've read in already hooked!

  51. I picked up Splintered 2 days ago and was so taken with the story that I immediately needed to find the next 2 books in the series and plan to finish them all in the next 2 weeks! That being said.... whether or not I prefer Grimm over Disney? It really does depend on my mood. I generally prefer Grimm but occasionally I do need the pick-me-up sweetness that Disney provides.

  52. I like both! I think I prefer the happiness and magic of Disney, but I love the darkness of the Grimm fairytales too...

  60. I think I still prefer Disney's tales, because it has almost everything I want in a tale. Great adventures, interesting stories, important life messages, some conflicts are deep enough to hurt your feeling, fierce actions, and the soundtracks hmm some of them are really eargasm!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Grimm. I enjoy the grisly elements.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I prefer Disney, it always reminds me of my youth :-)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I really like both! It all depends on my mood. I do like the more dark tones that the Grimm fairytales have but if I have to choose one I prefer I'd say Disney because of nostalgia to childhood and its comforting. I also love the tv show Once Upon A Time as well. I love how it takes fairytales but gives the stories we know a twist!
